About this museum
Ancienne chapelle Saint - Etienne construite vers le XIe siècle pour les moines de l'Abbaye Saint Honorat de Lérins, elle fut réédifiée au milieu du XVIIe siècle et abrita pendant plus de deux siècles la confrérie des Pénitents Noirs. Ces laïcs s'occupaient des mourants et leur assuraient une sépulture chrétienne.
