About this museum
Das Wasserwerk am Hochablass, auch Trinkwasserwerk am Neubach genannt, ist das erste in Augsburg erbaute Wasserwerk zur Förderung und Aufbereitung von Trinkwasser. Es bildete damals den Grundstein für eine moderne, hygienische zentrale Trinkwasserversorgung im Augsburger Stadtgebiet. Nach der Stilllegung im Jahre 2007 dient es den Augsburger Stadtwerken als Wasserkraftwerk zur Stromerzeugung, Technikmuseum und Informationszentrale zur Augsburger Trinkwasserversorgung.
